Thank you for your enquiry.
The Innurex program is still very much in the research phase. Although we initially had some very encouraging results in models of spinal injury the translation of these approaches into the clinical scenario is extremely challenging. One major difficulty in patients with spinal cord injuries is administering the therapy to the site of injury in a timescale in which a therapeutic effect can occur. Recent studies have demonstrated that Innurex is less therapeutic when administered after the onset of spinal injury and this has limited progress with this approach at present. We are currently screening other therapeutic targets, to see if any can provide greater therapeutic potential in models of spinal injury, following the onset of the injury. Unfortunately therefore, the Innurex program is still very firmly in the research phase at present and unlikely to translate into clinical application in the near future. That said we are still hopeful that the program will continue to develop at Oxford BioMedica.
